Karma Comes Back Around

, , , ,

As some of you know, I like to think up and then do acts of kindness. I usually don’t think about the concept of karma while I’m doing an act of kindness. I usually just enjoy doing the act of kindness with no thought of any return on my time, etc… I usually figure I’m just doing my part to put some kindness and light in my little corner of the world.

One of the kindnesses I most enjoy doing is offering to take photos of folks out enjoying themselves. I just enjoy seeing people happy and ALL in the photo together. It will hopefully bring back pleasant memories when they look at it. Sometimes I can even take photos of others when I’m just resting on a bench. Some folks have joked that I need a tip bucket when I do that. It helps me pass the time constructively and allows folks to get a photo or two they might not have had otherwise. And let’s face it, not all of us are good at taking selfies. I most definitely am not. My head is usually tilted in a weird position or my chin is up and my smile looks like a demented clown. Ugh. I definitely prefer someone else take my photo! In fact, I feel so strongly about I have volunteered at a local garden taking photos of people at events or posed in front of beautiful flowers. You might say it is a passion of mine that people remember good times by having a photo to take with them.

My family and I were in Kansas City this weekend and all my recent volunteering to take photos of folks came back to me in a moment of karma. As we were approaching a giant, decorated holiday tree, a man walked over and asked if I wanted him to take our picture so we all could be in it. Of course, I was thrilled and agreed. He took several great photos and they were some of the only full-family photos we got on our trip. What a great souvenir!

So hear me out on this one. Maybe all the kindness and good (karma) you put out into the world doesn’t come back to you immediately. Maybe it comes back in ways and places that surprise you. How fun (and deep) is that? 😁 Let me know what you think about that idea in the comments below.

And with that thought in mind, let’s get out there and put more kindness in the world!

About Me

I am a human being who appreciates kindness. I enjoy being the recipient of acts of kindness (who doesn’t? 😊). I enjoy planning for acts of kindness and trying spur-of-the-moment acts of kindness. I also enjoy reading about others doing acts of kindness. It gives me both hope and ideas for future acts of kindness I could do.
